by Ashley Cumpston (2020-05-20)

Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino revealed a painful secret on Thursday's episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

The 37-year-old reality star told friends that his wife Lauren, 35, had recently suffered a miscarriage, after being pregnant for almost two months.

'I wanted to tell you that me and Laurens, we had a little situation,' he began, addressing his Jersey Shore family in the living room of his new home.

'We got pregnant the night he got home,' Lauren said, referring to the day Mike was released from prison. 'And then it was six-and-a-half, seven weeks, and I miscarried.'

Their baby was conceived in September 2019 when Mike, 37, left Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in upstate New York after serving eight months for tax evasion.

As he sat with pals in his new home, Mike hoped that he and Lauren would have a fresh start, leaving behind the years they'd spent in a small place and the specter of his time in prison.

'It really feels awesome to finally, properly host to my squad,' he told the cameras. 'Unfortunately, I need to let them know that we had sort of a complication with starting our family.'

His friends, most of whom were parents themselves, looked devastated to hear the news.

'Sorry to hear that,' said Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, 34, as Jenni 'JWoww' Farley, 34, teared up.

'I went to the doctor 24 hours before it happened, 'cause I had a bad feeling,' Lauren recounted. 'He was like, ''No, you're great, you're healthy. Go home''.'

In a confessional, Mike admitted that 'It was a very difficult time, the day that it happened, the day that my wife miscarried. One of my biggest fears was coming true.'

Deena Cortese, 33, tried to console Lauren, telling her, 'I think it's very, very awesome that you opened up about it,' but privately admitted, 'It's so sad.'

'It was not easy for us to take as a young couple,' Mike shared. 'But we picked ourselves up, and I'm so proud of this woman next to me right here, for being so strong.'

As the episode opened, the entire cast was still in New Orleans for Angelina Pivarnick's bachelorette party.

She was due to get married to Chris Larangeira in 12 days, and they'd all had a crazy time celebrating her nuptials.

Jenni had enjoyed a drunken flirtation with Paul 'DJ Pauly D' Delvecchio, 39, on their last night, with the two of them almost having sex.

To the disappointment of their castmates, they didn't consummate their lust, but it was clear they had feelings for one another.

'I'm looking at Pauly and Jenni, and I just see like hearts around them and waterfalls shooting in the background,' Ronnie said. 'I knew this was coming.'

The gang encouraged them to go to Angelina's wedding together, as neither one had a date.

'Imagine if my wedding is the place Pauly and Jenni actually smoosh,' crowed Angelina, 33.

She was personally apprehensive about getting married, telling her friends, 'Oh God, one d*** for the rest of my life. That's f***ed up.'

But she felt better after Jenni agreed to be her bridesmaid again despite their recent falling out.

After everyone flew home to New Jersey, Angelina and Chris toured their wedding venue, Park Chateau Estate and Gardens in East Brunswick.

Angelina grew frustrated with her fiancé's apathetic, though genial, response to choosing food and flowers, but was pleased to see him commit to their Pre-Cana couples counseling course.

After meeting their wedding DJ, Angelina confessed that she'd initially thought preparing for their nuptials was going to be 'easy breezy,' with a wedding planner doing everything for them.

'Like, f***,' she marveled. 'It's a lot of work.'

As a special surprise, Vinny Guadagnino, 32, choreographed a dance for Mike, Pauly, Ronnie and himself to do at the wedding, and he asked his mom Paula Guadagnino to videotape him.

She wasn't great at using technology, he said, noting that her first Tweet to the world read 'Deli Staten Island Walking Distance.'

While Vinny outlined the steps for his mom's camera, his flamboyant Uncle Nino danced alongside him, twerking in bright-yellow pants and waving a cane.

'This is a terrible video,' Vinny noted after seeing it. 'The good news is, if Uncle Nino can do this dance, so can the guys.'

As Vinny danced, Mike and Lauren celebrated finally moving into their palatial new home.

'I am totally in my feels right now, because I am closing one chapter of my life and also opening another,' Mike reflected.

He invited the gang to come see his place, and as he drove up, Vinny was stunned by the size of the home, cracking, 'He went from the Big House to buying a big house!'

'Mike's house looks exactly like a ski lodge,' Ronnie pointed out. 'It's like The Shining. We pull up and I'm like, ''Here's Ronnie!''

Everyone toured the grounds, impressed by the home's huge bedrooms, which included a future kids' room, and observatory.

When they sat down to catch up, Mike and Lauren told them all the news about the baby.

'Holding it in and not telling anybody was so toxic for me,' Lauren explained. 'I think it's because we're so transparent, with good and bad. What we've gone through, everything with court and everything, with his addiction, when he was at his lowest point, I had to deal with that publicly.'

'It wasn't the right time for myself and my wife, but I'm sure in the next couple months, in the next year, it will be the right time to continue to make our family and have little Situations,' Mike emphasized in a confessional.

'We're just gonna try again,' he told the group. 'That's the main thing. We tried last week, and tonight we have another appointment to try, try again.'

Mike then announced that he thought they should all give Angelina a 'sendoff' dinner at the Seaside, New Jersey house where they first met, to make her feel part of their family.

He suggested they each come up with a special gift for the bride, and they called Pauly on the road, where he was DJ'ing, to solicit his idea: a set of luggage.

Listening to Pauly on the phone, Jenni turned red like she was 'in high school,' she said.

In a preview of Angelina's wedding on next week's season three finale, it appeared that Jenni, Deena and Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi, 32, were booed by guests, and the bride yelled, 'Get this camera crew out of my face.'

'She's happy [the] entire f***ing crowd booed us,' Deena insisted, vowing, 'I will never film with her again!'
